Calendars

Hello again!!! BEWARE**** For some reason my blog spell check isnt working, so grandma and everyone else dont have a cow :) Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow!!!!My friends Kristi and Niccole and I have a BFF swap that we just started doing. January's theme was a calendar, and this is my submission!!! First is a picture of the frame I used. I got it on sale at Hobby Lobby for about a dollar. It holds 2 4x6 pictures. All I did was measure it and slip my paper in and embellish the outside!!!! Super easy. The first frame is all SU! and is for Niccole(My super Hostess enabler buddy). I had a prob with this one because she likes earthy colors and I like bright cheery colors and lots of pink lol. It turned out ok in the end but im not entirely happy with it so im gonna make her another one even though she likes this one LOL. Postit notes go on the bottom left of the frames where my water mark is, I just didnt have any that matched. I think these are a cute quick and easy gift idea!!!! For hers I took some white ribbon and colored it with my copic markers(that I got from Gina k's copic club) and adheared it to the outside with Tacky Tape. The flowers(from Hobby Lobby) have Glossy Accents in the middle with seed beads on top. I saw this on some ones blog and I cant remember who(sorry I think your really cool though!!!) The paper is soft sky, so saffron, and old olive. The DP is Fall Flowers. I got the calender from Red Castle, which I found through Beate's tutorial on SCS.
Next is the one I made for Kristi(My Mrs Phil teenager advice columnist!) I jused paper from the For peeps sakes line from Imaginice. I am soooooooooo in love with this paper.....The best part is the matching stamps are only a dollar a piece. I bought mine on ebay way before I got the paper and I love them. The little birdy in the corner is the one Im talking about!!! It looks so cute stamped on the patterned paper!! I also bought this ribbon off eBay its May Arts and I already think I need more!!!!! This whole line makes me smile!!!! Hope you enjoyed todays post.....Hagd and remember Sistahs......try and do the challenge......You know you want the goodies!!!

SBS6 challenge #1

I was talking to our admin about setting up a weekly challenge for our Group and she said it would be great!Sooooooooooo Here's week #1's challenge. I want YOU to take some thing small, and inexpensive(like a dollar!!) and turn it into something to give as a sweet valentines day gift. No restrictions or vendor requirements! All you need to do is post a link to it here and I will randomly pick someone to win a prize!!!! The prize will be some stuff to alter from Target as allot of people have said they cant find these things. Please note only SBS6 sistahs are eligible for the prize, but anyone can play!!!! I will draw a name on Monday. Here are 2 examples that I made this week. The clips are explained on an earlier post. They were from the dollar spot at target, so were the little chocolate boxes. I just used the scraps from my paint cans to make matching items to go in them!!! Hope you guys have fun doing the challenge. I will be posting one every Wednesday. They will include everything from color challenges to inspiration challenges to anything else i can dream up!!!!! I'm off to make some more ideas for the challenge to post later today or tomorrow. Have a great day!!!!!

SORRY.....And a paint can!!!!

Sorry I have been the worst blogger ever.....I missed over a WEEK. **gasp** OK I have been making a bunch of altered stuff for the past two weeks, and I will be diligently posting them this week! I promise!!!! OK this can is for my friends swap on SCS. I got the can at home depot for $4 and its gallon size. First I measured and cut my paper to go around it. Then I laid the paper over the can and pressed down on the circles on the side so I would know where to cut them out. I used a 1" circle punch for this, creating a half moon shape where i had indented. It took two sheets to go all the way around the can! The paper was adhered with Modge Podge, cus I couldn't get the Tacky Tape to lay flat for some reason. Letters were cut out with my Cricut and Stamped with a swirl image(you cant really see it in the pic though). I adhered the pink ribbon with tacky tape to cover the seam between the two papers.

For the lid, I cut out a 5 1/2" circle with my cricut and adhered it with Modge Podge. I used my thumb nail to make sure the sides went all the way down, because the lid is actually about 5 1/4" Make sense??? Then I took some scrap paper and cut 2 circles out with my Nestabilities (one scalloped that i pierced, and one regular with I embossed). The finishing touches were some Liquid Pearls and Stickles in the flower centers and a sentiment stamped on scrap paper with some liquid pearls under it. Oh ya and some ribbon to the handle......Which BTW now that I look at it it defiantly needs some more!!!! Have a great day. I will be posting tomorrow so check back!!!!!!!

Gotta love Target's dollar spot!!

I went to target today to peruse the dollar spot. I was hoping to find some goodies for my friends Valentines day paint can swap!!! I found a ton of stuff for gifts and some stuff to alter too. This came in a 2 pack in clear and black(I bought one of each and will be back tonight to buy a bunch more!!) They are just jumbo clips that have magnets on the back. Too cute I say!!!! This one took about 5 min to make. Card stock is Bazzil, cut with my nestabilities and punched with a paper piercer. The stamps are Studio G from Michael's. I used Stazon Stone Grey and Blazing Red inks. The ribbon is from my stash! I attached all of the layers together with foam tape for a little dimension, and adhered the paper to the clip with Tacky Tape. hope you like it! I'm still debating on if I like the ribbon or not. It looks plain with out it, but it kinda looks out of place. Any hoo. I am gonna try and be a better blogger this week. Life is slightly hectic over here! I plan on altering a bunch of stuff for Valentines day so check back for that. Also.....insert blushing here. In the midst of the Christmas chaos, I failed to send out my blog candy to Linda SS. It is going in the mail today, along with a Sorry-This-Took-Way-To-Long-Gift in the package. My sincere apologies for this Linda, I hope you can forgive me.

simple birthday

I have recently fallen in love with this blog. She is completely amazing. Today I watched one of her older videos. In the beginning of it she said do you ever have a day where you don't want to create? well i do it anyway!!! So in her honor I cased this card which I love!!!! I love her simple style and I think that this card does her some justice!!! I really like it. It makes me happy I made something when I didn't really feel like it!! I think I'm gonna start "making" my self make more stuff!!!! Hope you like it as much as I do!!! I think some times I over think my cards and try to make them too complicated, so I give up before I start. Don't try don't fail mentality. I am definitely gonna stop that. GO MAKE YOURSELF MAKE A CARD!!! (why? because I said so)

My Word for 2008

Ali Edwards put a wonderful post up on her blog about clearing out last years inspirations to make room for a new fresh start. Along with that she posted a word to inspire her this year. I have been thinking about this since she put it on her blog. I Need inspiration & motivation. The end of 2007 was a little rocky for me and my family so I decided that this year I would focus on
HARMONY--1 a balanced, pleasing, or suitable arrangement of parts 2 peaceful coexistence 3 a state of consistency
Each part of this definition shows what I am truly needing right now. Balance---can I have an extra helping of that please??? Peaceful coexistence--Family woes oh my do I need this! Consistency--I think someone forgot to tell me about this one lol.......I want to find peace and harmony in my personal, family , and crafting life. I feel calmer already :) I'm off to take my sis to school, when I get back Ill post my creation with my word!!! Please comment on what your word and the meaning behind it!! I love to hear stories!!!

My first digi scrapbook page!!!!!!!

I got this kit from Two Peas in a Bucket.....Its the first digital page I've ever tried so please don't be too harsh lol. I think its cute...My fave colors and plus it only took me 10 min to make!!! I don't think I would switch to this type of scrapbooking but its fun to play around with!! Ill try and post some cards later on, after I buy some glue. I know, a paper crafter with out glue????

I made this card for my bff to tell her thanks for helping me with my sister and then I found out today that she doesn't feel well, so hopefully this makes her feel better!!!
