The Changeling

If you get the title reference, Comment so I can laugh with you!!!! This card gave me trouble for two whole days. I think its finally starting to grow on me though. My sister comes back from Florida on the first and I wanted to make a card to give her with her Starbucks(yes she's addicted now too!!!) She isn't girly like me, so I wanted to make her a distressed card. I think tomorrow(well today since its 3 am) I'm gonna try and make a diff one with basic grey and see if I like it better??? Who knows?? Maybe I'm being crazy it is 3 am after all and I have been staring at this piece of paper for a really really long time.....I could ramble more but I will stop lol!!! OK, the base is a 8"x9 1/2" folded piece of Bazzil textured cardstock. It started its life white!! I sponged it with Tim Holtz Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo, and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. I then ripped the DP(Tim Holtz too I think???) and inked the edges with the Vintage Photo. I also used the vintage photo on the twill. Then I inked the small flower from SU! Time Well Spent onto the twill. The little clip thing was kinda bright for my plan so I alcohol inked it to make it darker. The large flower was stamped in Versamark and then embossed with Tim Holtz EP in frayed burlap. I colored the image in with the above mentioned colors and then added ultra thick EP too it. The stickers were just in my stash, I think they came with some scrapbooking page kit or something. Ok so now that you know how it turned out look at this. I started out trying to do this sketch. How did I get this card outta that sketch. I did have some inspiration from BadSherry though!!!Check out her blog, she had some cool tips for the Tim Holtz products!!I have NO idea. Like I said its a Changeling!! BTW that messy table was only clean for 5 min after I spent 3 hours cleaning my studio. GO FIGURE.

My grandma gave me that love....the cool thing was in 6Th grade my teacher had this thing where for every 5 books you read you got to have ice cream with her at recess. most of the kids in my class had about 10. I had about 60. I'm elementary I read a book or more day. At this point in life I couldnt tell you how many books I have read. I kinda wish I kept track though!! My grandmas prob read a million!!!

Grandpa's frame

This is an altered frame that I made my grandpa for Christmas. I started with an unfinished wood frame that I got at HL, I sanded it a little bit, and sponged on Tim holtz distress inkz in vintage photo. I rubbed some of the ink off in spot to make it look really distressed. The metal plate is from Monday's Metal. It was a light cream color so I inked it with vintage photo too. I added the brown letters from Remarks, and sprayed it with matte sealer too keep it all on! The ribbon was just in a jar so who knows where it came from.....This picture was taken last Christmas while I was showing him the scrapbook I had made him. My grandpas the best!!!!! I hope everyone is recovering nicely from the Christmas mayhem! I did a little post Christmas shopping today. I got some great deals!! I'm off to finish cleaning my studio. If i can keep it clean longer then 5 min Ill put some pictures up!!!!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Here are half of the Christmas cards I made the other day, I'll post the other half tomorrow!!! They are all pretty similar and use American Crafts "the goods" Christmas paper. hope you like them. They are really simple and quick. I don't like to mass produce one card so I tried to make them all different in their own way!!! As always if you have any specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

I made a card board book thingy.I also gave her a Starbucks gift card(I got her addicted too:), a card and a coluzzle circle stencil.

I thinkthe pic is pretty self explanatory. I used SU! wintergreen DP. This is what I made to hold the coluzzle, and the picture of the bag.

Now on to the book. I used a ton of different products that I had in my stash to complete this. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many to list. So, if you have any questions about a particular thing, just email me or leave a comment and I will be happy to answer it to the best of my ability!!!!!

I love to dry emboss and love the looks of it too. But now that I'm learning how to use my Prismacolors with gamsol, this might soon become the new favorite.

Ornamnets Galore!!!

I so wish you guys could see these for real. They didn't photograph very well. If you haven't figured it out its a snow globe, That actually works!!!! I used the tutorial here. The only thing I did different is, My globe 4" and I used a baked beans can lol.

Paper:K & Company. Its super sparkly irl!
Ribbon: HL(the dollar kind)
Other:The plastic words and snow flakes are also from HL, They are buttons that I cut the back off!
Stamp: Stampendous
Ink: Stazon and Sharpe
Number 2!!!!!! This was supper simple. I cut the Heidi Grace paper into 5/8" x 12" stripes, Then I held one end with the tweezers(i have the making memory ones and they rock!) and rolled the paper around into a coil. I put them all in the ornament, Slapped some dollar ribbon and a snowflake on and there you have it!!!!!!!!!

Number Three is the "Pink Diva" ornament. I started with a piece of tacky tape around the middle. I rolled that into light pink glitter(which doesn't show up very well in the pic). Then i dotted liquid pearls along the top and bottom of the line. I added some organdy ribbon, and used some bling on top of that! Inside it has Buffalo Snow and some of these puff ball things I found at HL. I loved the way this one turned out.

The last one for today was done with Ranger Alcohol Inks. I used Oregano and Silver(the gold is my over head light i think?) along with the blending solution. This is a 4" ornament and I think its cute!!!

Paper tree

Hey guys. I found my mojo big time today. I have had my super crafter cape on all morning!!!!!!! This is the first christmas thing I made today. You can find the tutorial here. I followed the directions all the way. I used a paper line from my LSS. The ribbon was from Micheal's and the snowflake I got from a scavenger hunt. I think it was cut out and pieced together from the Cuttlebug. I painted the dowel and pot with MM Brown paint, and I used that fake snow stuff on the bottom. Hope you enjoyed looking!!! This was actually really quick to make. Prob took me about an hour? maybe less. Check back tomorrow, I'm gonna post the ornaments I'm making!

Mellow and cherished!

Hey guys sorry its been a while! I decided to make this card for my DH to let him know how much I cherish him! He is the most wonderful and giving man ever and he has provided me with a wonderful life! The card base is a 6x8( making it a 6x4 card) piece of Rust colored cs I had laying around. On top of that is a piece of brown followed by a piece of Basic Grey's Mellow line.

I added a random scrap of ribbon and allegedly used my mat pack to place the brads don't know why they look sideways????? I cut 2 circles out on my Cricut and used my corner rounder to make the scalloped edge along the big one. All of the paper was inked with Stazon Timber brown. I finished it off by adding the stamp from SU's warm words set! Hope you guys enjoy it as much as he did!!!

Christmas chipboard sign

These are the signs I made for my buddy Niccole's swap over at scs. The base is 4x4 chipboard. I adhered the paper with spray glue. The papers I used were, Bazzil-seawater that I stamped snowflakes on in silver(which you cant see even in real life by the way) and paper salon shimmer snowball stripe. I sanded the edges of the chipboard and inked it with a silver cat eye. The letters were cut out with my Cricut and the George cartridge. I covered all of the squares with diamond glaze and then diamond dust to create a snowflake effect. I added some snowflakes and stars by Darice with my crop a dile. I finished it off by applying some tacky tape to the ribbon i bought at walmart for super cheap! It hangs from an eyelet at the top. Hope you enjoy!!!!!!!!!

$1 Felt Ornament

I got this at Micheal's for a dollar the other day, For my friends birthday surprise mail!!! I inked the edges in Choc chip first cus I was thinking I was gonna go for a distressed look, but of course I changed my mind mid-alter. I wont be doing that again i think it kinda made it look dirty. I used my Crop-A-Dial to make holes for the brad, and added the cute little tag...My friends a Super Diva!!! The flowers and the other two brads I got at HL all and all it took about 5 min and I think it turned out super cute!!! I'm gonna go get a bunch more of them tomorrow to use as tags on the Christmas gifts for the people I really like lol!

Retro BIrthday

Hey!!! I Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving....We sure did. I cooked for 20 people. We made a 17 lb turkey and the people sucked the bones dry.....There were NO leftovers! Ok on to the card....All products SU unless otherwise noted. I started with a piece of Chocolate Chip for my 5x 5 card base. I then layered a piece of Certainly Celery on top that I inked with Choc Chip. On top of that I put a piece of Basic Grey Blush paper that I inked as well. I used the ticket corner punch on both of those and added some misc. brads in the corners. I used the round tab punch on a scrap of basic grey paper and stamped the happy birthday from the fun fast notes set. The flower was cut out of the BG paper. I drew the stem myself which is why it kinda looks funny. The stitching on the pink paper was a rub on I had laying around. Quick and easy!!!!

Tuesday, November 20, 2007

This is another Birthday card for Jeff. I started with a 5x5 card base in Ballet blue. I layered a piece of close to cocoa on that and then added a piece of close to cocoa DP on top of that. I inked all the edges with close to cocoa using a piece of Rangers Cut-n-Dry stamp pad foam(BTW holy cow go buy its fantastic!!). The small squares were cut out with a punch from CM. The stamps are from Crafty Secrets called Favorite Fellas. This stamp set is so versatile I think everyone should own it for the men in your life! Lets see...the tag is an Undressed chipboard piece from basic grey that I inked with close to cocoa, and the ribbon and the brads are from HL. Hope you enjoy it as much as DH did!!! We had a great night, I got him cologne and a HD drive for his Xbox 360 (it was expensive but worth it he called all his friends right a way to brag lol). We went out to dinner to The Melting Pot, which is a super good fondue place here in Dallas! It was delightful. The meal takes about 2 hours which is nice cus we got to talk and reminisce and all that mushy stuff. Well I'm off to start the thanksgiving cooking!!! Have a great day!

So I bought this retired SU stamp set off eBay...Its called Pretty Princess. I love it!!! I don't however love this card. The pictures are bad and for that I apologize i might try and retake them in the morning, But for impatient Amanda here's my post. Although you cant really tell by the picture the background was stamped with the crosshatch BG stamp. Pretty in pink ink on the same paper. The shimmery paper was stamped with the flower from doodle this in Stazon white. It looks cool IRL i promise!!! the ribbon and brads are from HL as are the little gemstones. The top of her dress was jazzed up with stickles. So there you go Amanda a card I don't really like and the worst pictures ever.....lol. I still love you!!!!Oh ya this card is also for WT140 over at SCS

Pink Christmas

Red and green is boring, so for my grandma(who only thinks you should use red and green) I present my Pink Christmas Card. As always all products are SU unless otherwise noted The card measures 6 x 4 1/2. I started with white cs inking the edges with pink passion, I then added a strip of Doodle bug designs paper to the bottom. I cut the stockings out of white and pink passion using my Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge. I then applied glitter to the white parts(I put them through my Xyron first, it makes applying glitter sooooo easy!!!) and attached them with Pop dots. I've had the glitter snow flakes for a while...I'm out now so if anyone sees them somewhere, let me know!!!!!!I attached them with Pop dots too. Then I attached the Merry Christmas(pink passion from cricut) This was super quick and easy, since my cricut did all the work!!!

Grandpas card

Hey guys....Hopefully you know that veteran's day is on Nov 11Th. Take some time and honor the men and women that fought to keep our country safe!!! I love this stamp set!!! You can get it here!!! Its called Fabulous Fellas, which is exactly what my Grandpa is!!! He fought in World War II for the US Army in Japan. Grandma don't tell him its on its way :) The paper is from we are memory keepers Venetian line. All of the images and the edges of the paper are inked with SU Chocolate Chip. The buttons and the ribbon can be found here, if they are still in stock. the corners were punched with the ticket punch by SU. And there you have it super simple and super cute thank you for my grandpa!!! Here's a picture of him!!! He's enjoying a 3 lb lobster that he didn't believe existed!!!

Wintergreen Tree

Hey guys!!!! I absolutely love how this turned out!!!! All products SU unless otherwise noted(I finally made a mostly SU card!) I started with a 5 x 10 piece of sage shadow paper folded to make a 5 x 5 card. I inked the edges of it with always artichoke. I then took a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of DP from wintergreen, inked it with always artichoke, and then matted it on to my card. I cut a piece of the same card stock(also inked) turned over and matted it along the bottom. I then placed my 2 eyelets and threaded some silver cord through it, securing it on the back with tacky tape. I inked a piece of certainly celery CS with certainly celery and always artichoke ink. Then I stamped my HL dollar stamp on to it in always artichoke. I stamped my "trunk" with all in a row in Stazon timber brown. I placed my spirals on Zots(I think that's what they are???) and arranged then in the shape of a tree. I sprinkle the tree with ultra fine glitter to hide the zots. And there you have it......My best Christmas card yet(In my opinion!!)

Health nut 08 recipe swap

I decided to host my first swap at scs, if you would like to join me click here!!!!!!!! Lets get 08 started off with some yummy healthy recipes!!!!!!

Hannah's christmas tree

OK, I think this one is a little better. The card base is Bazzill: seawater that I embossed with the snowflakes folder in my Cuttlebug. I stamped Hannah, the tree, and the ornaments with Sazon black on SU whisper white. The tree is colored with Prismacolors and gamosal. Hannah's skirt is paper pieced(which Ive never done before) out of a scrap of My Minds Eye Bohemia paper. I used the winter wonderland ep for the snow. Her hat was made with Christmas cheer cartridge on my Cricut. I set the size to 2. I used SU ticket corner punch on the WW and matted it on a piece of real red. I added some misc green brads in the corner and I was done!!!!! hope you like it.

Creative block :(

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, my brain has been in a creative fog. Here's a card I threw together tonight to try to help my self out of it. It was created using the SCS card sketch #93. Sorry the pictures are so bad, I had to take them lightening fast. All of the front panels are straight its just the way the card is sitting. I promise!!!!!!!I started off with a bazzil card stock in orange, I then stamped SU sanded in black, and inked the edges with black Cat eye. I used the directions for the Z card found in my previous post. I cut the DP to 4x3 1/2 and the black too 3 3/4x3 1/4. I added Jolee stickers to the black cs and attached that layer to the DP layer with pop dots. I added the "happy Halloween" stamp (Michael's $1 stamp) with white Stazon. Boom there you have it quick and easy!!!!!!!!!!

Treasure

For you're viewing pleasure: This card is for a scavenger hunt I'm doing. I thought it turned out wonderful!!!! Just the way I like it. I started out with a 5x5 inch card. I then took a piece of Karen Foster Design paper I had laying around and I colored in the x with a Sharpe so you could see it a little better. I then used the Cracked Glass technique on my "treasure map" to make it look old. Then I covered the entire thing with Cateye cheastnut roan. I also covered some tan ribbon with the Catyeye to make it look older. The chipboard skull was in my stash from who knows where. I covered it with Cateye too!!!! It was a Cateye kinda day!!!!! I sealed my "treasure map" with a matte sealer. I then stamped treasure over the top of it using a Heidi Swapp stamp inked with Stazon stone grey. Quick and easy!!!!!!!

Quick birthday

I made this in super lightning speed at the last min, but I liked how it turned out! Although I glued it together and then realized I should inked the edges. Oh well. The card base is a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of black card stock. What company you say? Who knows! All it says is "dark black" on the sticker. Isn't black always dark? Any way the second layer is a piece of SU whisper white cs(4" x 5" )that I embossed with the stylized flowers Cuttlebug folder. I then punched the scallop circle(SU tempting tourquoise) with my Marvy giga punch. I used my paper piercer to punch the holes. I used my Cricut to create the 2 1/2" inner circle with whisper white cs. I then stamped the images( SU Fun and Fast Notes) with grey stazon, using my stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure the placement was correct. I colored in the image with my prismacolors(non photo blue and canary yellow). i embossed the frosting on the cake with white ep, and added some glitter to the flames for added bling! The ribbon I got a hl for a dollar. And there you have it folks a super quick card for my little sisters 18th birthday!!!!
